Incredible experience! We had the most amazing day! Highly recommend!!!
Our tour guide was nice and knowledgeable but we didn't like the itinerary and our lunch. The first two wineries were fantastic but after that the rest was nothing special. For lunch, we were given a $50 voucher per person to lunch at Rustico but it was a total disappointment. We were hoping to have lunch at Voyager as it was mentioned in some of the reviews.We shared 4 small dishes between us at Rustico and it came to a total of $98. The $24 pickled occy+mussels tasted horrible & we didn't know what we were eating. The occy looked & tasted like thin sausages and the mussels were grainy. Our next dish was a $24 tempura Spanish mackerel. The 4 thin slivers of fish deep fried in thick batter and the fish overcooked! Then came 6 small to medium-sized sizzling prawns which cost $26. The prawns weren't de-veined and this was unacceptable. When we brought this up with the restaurant supervisor, she said by de-veining the prawns they would lose half of the prawns. Obviously, they don't know what they were doing. She said since we are not going to be happy with everything in the restaurant, she suggested we leave the place!! The only dish that was ok was the rainbow trout. The reason we ate in this restaurant was because it was part of a package included in our wine tour. If you are looking for a hearty meal, never come to this place, it's a total rip-off!!! The staff was rude and food tremendously over-priced!!! If we were given an option by our wine tour, we won't come to this restaurant. We were still hungry after leaving Rustico. If you are doing wine tour, check with your tour guide which restaurant youll be dinning at to prevent disappointment!When we told our tour guide what happened at the restaurant, she didnt seemed to care.If we were going to do another wine tour in future, we will choose a cheaper wine tour package, and we will make sure we don't ever go to Rustico ever again!
Perfect wine tour! Classic mix of boutique wineries. Dean was a great host and very accommodating. He was knowledgeable, friendly and felt like part of the family. Would definitely recommend!
My partner and I had the Leeuwin long lunch tour it was the perfect day out and best wine tour. Our tour guide Rusty was a pleasure and was so informative on all the local wine, will definitely do it again next time we are back
